What does the resurrection of Jesus really mean for us today as his followers? In a world that is marked marked by anxiety, conflict, and sadness, what is needed more than anything is peace. The Gospel of John records that three times after Jesus arose from the dead, he declared to his disciples, “Peace be with you”. These declarations teach us that the resurrection means peace is not something we work toward, but it is the risen Christ himself infusing us by His Spirit with his resurrection life. This is what the world needs to see from the church today, that Jesus, our peace, is alive and with us!
