The Beatitudes are Divine Realism because they are revelation of what God is like as seen in Jesus. It is an exposure of what reality is like and what we can be like. They are not imposed idealism, but stark realism! Whenever we embody these characteristics we move into the absolute! The Beatitudes are Christ’s own specifications of what every Christian ought to be. Therefore they are the norms of the Kingdom, for they reflect the character of the King.
